In Breton, ‘Marmooz’ means ‘to do silly things’ or ‘a little kid’ . This new show aims to free the audience from their shyness and their inhibitions

. Like a child free from all responsibility who doesn’t think before acting, but lets their body express itself to the music, without any restraint. We want the audience, no matter their age, to rediscover their innocence, their childlike spirit, and their desire to be playful and meet new people.

To achieve this, we want to rethink the artists’ position and broaden the audience’s perspective.

Marmooz aims to be inclusive; we want everyone to feel part of the experience and free to participate actively. The boundary between musicians and spectators dissolves to create space for encounters . The aim is therefore to maintain a strong sense of closeness by experimenting with new spatial arrangements to choreograph our pieces. The staging must allow everyone to fully enjoy the show, whether they are on the stage left or stage right.

Always with the aim of fostering a sense of closeness with the audience, the OOZ BAND attaches great importance to composing modern pieces that are in tune with our times. Thus, this new creation is infused with influences from electro, hip-hop and also the music of New Orleans.

With this new show, the OOZ BAND hasn’t completely strayed from their distinctive, offbeat style either. Humour remains a key element, essential for letting go and connecting with the audience. Whilst they have evolved slightly, the costumes will still be outrageous, adorned with the golden ‘Z’, the group’s emblem, like a troupe of superheroes capable of transforming us into playful grown-ups.

PARADE SHOW FOR THREE HIP-HOP DANCERS AND A NEW ORLEANS INSPIRED BRASS BAND

A PARTICIPATORY SHOW FOR ALL AGES

In New Orleans, brass bands traditionally march to the beat of a frenzied and irresistible jazz, a blend of African, Caribbean and European influences. New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, has mysteriously kept alive the spirit of the music and the call to dance. These parades are accompanied by dancers who stroll in front of the procession of musicians: the ‘First Line’, followed by an audience that strolls after the artists, dancing: the ‘Second Line’.

Inspired by this culture, the group Red Line Crossers is made up of a brass band and three hip-hop dancers. The show is a street performance in which musicians and dancers march along, inviting the audience to follow them!
