A dance company founded by Seren Kano and Andrège Bidiamambu in 2024
Andrège Bidiamambu grew up in France.
Seren Kano was born and raised in Japan.
They have been collaborating for several years.
Motivated by a desire to create projects and collaborate on dance and movement initiatives, they founded the Rennes-based company AS in 2024.
Their movement style is a fusion of locking, contemporary dance and martial arts. Together, they created their first piece, ‘quatre trois ◇ : △’.
They return to the roots of locking and, through a rhythmic exploration that is both simple and complex, watch it unfold.
Bound by their shared passion, their two worlds come together.
For their first piece, “Four Three”, a duo formed as part of the wider Conversation(s) project, Andrège BIDIAMAMBU and Seren KANO (AS compagnie) have decided to explore together their thoughts and approach to their ‘Locking’ dance practice, stepping outside its usual context of training sessions and battles…
They take ownership of and experiment with the elements that, for them, constitute the essence of “Locking”: groove, technique, rhythms… and turn them into their means of communication, much like a language, inviting the audience to witness one of these many conversations.
