Tiki Paradise

Since time imme­mo­rial, people have drea­med of exo­tic fara­way places where life would be good. Tiki Para­dise draws on the hall­marks of exo­ti­ca to create the dream­like sound­track of this ima­gi­ned place. A lit­tle-known genre in France, the exo­ti­ca craze emer­ged in the late 1950s in the Uni­ted States. This genre draws ins­pi­ra­tion from tra­di­tio­nal music from Ocea­nia, South Asia, Latin Ame­ri­ca and Afri­ca. ‘Tiki’ is the­re­fore a nod to Poly­ne­sian culture, much of which is based on fan­ta­sy. ‘Para­dise’ evokes the good life, a soo­thing atmos­phere with a dis­tant tro­pi­cal feel.
